Longhair Weimaraner Two breeds one coat, which came first? Why does Big Water Kennels has them? The Long haired Weim has been around as long as their short haired litter mates. Big Water decided to add the LH's to our kennel for a number of reasons, starting with a new better gene pool, with less genetic problems. The second main reason was for their beautiful coat they carry for cold waterfowl conditions. The LH's have all the great hunting traits as the SH's, but have the thick dense under coat, and a soft longer water resistant outer coat making them excellent cold climate dogs. The LH's are bred in other countries, and can hold all AKC hunting titles, and can show there skills though NAVHDA's testing programs. Our LH Weim Panzer has been all we hoped for and more, with an Top of the line pedigree, excellent Bird/prey drive, and a great temperament we are very pleased to have this Beautiful Dog in our kennels.
